SFEU Computing subject network event

SFEU held a subject network event for Computing today at Central College in Glasgow.

John McCann opened the event with an interested potted history of the subject. his talk brought back many happy memories for me of such things as the Advanced Courses Development Programme that commenced in the 1980's.

I had a couple of speaking slots - one on HN developments and one on the new NC awards. The HN presentation was interesting because part of it related to some of the issues surrounding the subject relating to uptake, success rates and student satisfaction. Ron Dillon gave a fascinating talk on the issue. There doesn't seem to be single reason but the contents of some SQA units appears to be part of the problem.
